Coronavirus Vaccination: Here is what is happening in the US

Coronavirus hit the world with its teeth fully sharpened in the last months of 2019, and it’s been nothing but more severe ever since. After isolating throughout the year and more and battling the infection, the situation got a bit under control. Even though the government authorities of health and members of the medical fraternity are doing their best to achieve success in the race against Covid-19, there is still much confusion over when the struggle will finally be over in the country, something which authorities are calling herd immunity.

On that note, a recently-developed set of vaccines are supplied to the vaccination camps and clinics in the respective states. However, the supply is limited and crucial for the population of the country. The vaccines which are yet approved in the US are Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, the former one having a preference over the latter one. Both vaccines are developed with the members of health institutions of the country involved. Another US-made vaccine, Novavax, is still in the trial phase and is set to be released for limited approval around the states.

It is safe to say that the vaccine is becoming available for the public gradually, but the policies involved with this supply are critical and prioritized accordingly, involving health care workers to get the vaccine first and elderlies and middle-aged after that. The third phase includes people over sixteen years old, while the issue of children under the age of sixteen is yet to be discussed by the authorities. It was also disclosed by the (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that phases may overlap according to decisions of the state health regulating authorities.

Particularly in Illinois, where Phase 1b is an on-going process, people between the age of 64 to 79 are getting vaccinated in vaccination camps as per the state policy that makes them prioritized candidates. That being said, there are other clinics and medical stores which have started regulating their own supply of approved vaccine; they are making them available for patients to buy.

With the death toll on a relatively lower level, the transmission rate is still high, which is creating an air of anxiety and panic in the residents of the state, forcing them to wonder if the US is riding towards the fourth wave of the virus. There is a debate going on among the residents on the ground of when the vaccines will finally be deployed in sufficient quantity for the complete population to get tested.

That lands us on a point to consider the clinics where the vaccine is set to be available for free in the upcoming weeks, allowing all groups of people to get vaccinated.

If you are based in Chicago, Illinois, you can get vaccinated for Covid-19 easily at reputable clinics that have promised to hold enough supply of verified and approved vaccines for the residents of the city. It was reported that the vaccine would be available within a couple of weeks; therefore, you can pre-book your Free Vaccine appointment here.
